Well, I ended my association with on-line dating the other week. Its just no longer for me. I spoke to a lot of good people, but nothing had a spark, no romantic thoughts either from myself or from the opposite sex.
I think people have this idealistic view that with on-line dating, they are going to meet a mirror image of themselves. Or someone who is everything they wanted and all boxes are ticked. Its impossible and a relationship would be boring without diversity. Most women I spoke to look for the impossible.
Perhaps I was looking for the impossible as well.
Every woman wants a nice guy. There is no such thing. Ive mentioned in this blog before that all men are bastards but on various levels. The same applies to women because in my opinion there is no such thing as nice . Everyone has a dark side, we have hurt and been hurt. Its human nature.

Ive been trying this again. Not through desperation, not through social retardedness, just out of curiosity. In the past I tried it and it worked out so well that she lasted nearly two years with me.
I’m certainly not looking for love. Right now I believe love is a mental illness that I can do without at this stage. Let the love be wished for by poets, fantastists and romanticists who don’t really live in the real world. I enjoy talking to people and my curiosity has led me to look to see who is out there… those people that I wont meet in bars or nightclubs.
Nothing positive has happened. Perhaps its due to the fact I don’t want love, nor crave the need for relationship. If someone lit my fire, then okay lets go for it. My personal opinion right now is that on-line daters are people who have a lot of emotional baggage, needy, or are looking for fun.
However 80% of the women on these on-line dating sites are snakes with tits. The men are worse no doubt from what Ive been told..
(Only my opinion of course, and that may change )

Here is one that slightly annoyed me: well actually it has annoyed me so much it is tonight’s post.
I ask you reader, is the word ‘ Chinky ‘ as used for calling a Chinese take away an affectionate Glasgow slang term? Or is it institutionally racist?
I suspect the latter.
Ive been posting on a forum that promotes Glasgow. A lot of my posts on there have been light-hearted and I confess to indulging in a little crude humour laced with colourful metaphors. Anyway, a poster used the word ‘ chinky ‘ when describing buying a take away. After reading his post, I asked if maybe he should reconsider his choice of wording.
He did not wish to change it, nor did the moderator of the forum seem to agree that it is actually offensive. The poster, bless him posts a rant as to how angry I made him because he has Asian friends. Good for him.
My posts in reply to how I believed it was racist were deleted, his original post remained for a day or two. What is worse is that the moderator was on my personal MSN Messenger list, and for reasons she wont explain, has now blocked me and put me on ignore. (I did ask her what the problem was, but I never got a reply ) I dont get it, I dont get people sometimes.
The fact of the matter is that ‘ chinky ‘ is not Glasgow slang, nor is it quaint Stanley Baxter Parliamo Glasgow-speak. Its an example of institutionalised racism. That is the way it is perceived these days.
A forum that wishes to promote Glasgow and allow postings using those terms without being (in my and many other’s view ) properly moderated should remain hidden. I’m no big lover of Glasgow these days, but its not good promotion is it?

I decided to migrate from a semi decent broadband provider to an apparently amazing super ISP which is more expensive.
2MB connection on my old ISP was fine.
Migrated at midnight…
Welcome to super ISP. Unlimited broadband, no traffic shaping, just surf and download all at high speeds..
2MB connection on my new Super ISP that seems to have 100% customer satisfaction = Dreadful! I am surfing at 400 Kbps with dreadful Ping times.
I love BT Wholesale..
