I am writing music again, and this time music that appears to be on the road to completion, instead long periods of time. Musicians are usually inspired by emotions or beautiful summer nights. However I am not like those music people. Recently, I have been inspired by a man who made national headlines, and I worked with him. His name? Captain Sir Alan Macilwraith…

Sir Alan’s Wikipedia Entry
Why Alan or Sir Alan as I still call him, did this I don’t think we will ever find out. I liked working with him and he was a helpful chap. I knew he was not a real Sir, or a war hero the UK and NATO could look to in times of chaos. I guess I did not wish to upset him, as I’m sure he would have taken great offence. It was up to my superiors to check the man’s credentials, which allegedly they didn’t.
It shows that you cant be sure if your work colleague is actually the person they say they are and have the proper experience for the job.
Anyway, back to how he inspired me. I was working on a musical piece which was going nowhere, and I couldn’t sleep one night. I thought of Sir Alan and the recent news stories and decided to make music around the story.
Perhaps its my dark humour coming to play.
I guess Sir Alan just wanted to be loved hence the charade. Who knows where he might have wished to end up with it if not found out?

I do not wish to enter into political blogging. It is boring and there are better bloggers out there who comment wonderfully. However watching George Galloway on Celebrity Big Brother does slightly annoy me. How is he representing his constituents? Or, is a stint on reality television the best way to encourage voting in real life issues instead of evictions?
He is not a celebrity. He was voted to represent the people, not for entering reality TV. Who is representing the constituents during his televisual holiday?
Well it seems that his electorate are not happy bunnies and I don’t blame them at all:
Why Isnt he at work?
How many people are going to take him seriously? The majority of Big Brother viewers are simply not interested in real life issues when they watch escapist TV. If they wish to learn about politics then they would be watching a political TV show. Simple as that.
It angers me because we have a guy here who is passionate in his ideology. If I watched BB, I wouldn’t be interested in hearing about an MP’s views.
Of course his supporters defend his move into reality TV.
BBC News Online
I do feel that any MP who is passionate in what they stand for, lose respect and tarnishes those beliefs if they start craving media attention for themselves, and not for how they wish to be a force for change to help society.
However, it is debatable if politicians actually help society…

I find this truly horrifying:
‘ The music industry is to extend its copyright war by taking legal action against websites offering unlicensed song scores and lyrics.
The Music Publishers’ Association (MPA), which represents US sheet music companies, will launch its first campaign against such sites in 2006.
MPA president Lauren Keiser said he wanted site owners to be jailed.
He said unlicensed guitar tabs and song scores were widely available on the Internet but were “completely illegal”.
Mr Keiser said he did not just want to shut websites and impose fines, saying if authorities can “throw in some jail time I think we’ll be a little more effective”. ‘
Has it came to the point where creative expression is now going to become outlawed? How many talented people in the industry or those still wishing the musical dream first started out practising to songs, tab, or scores by their influences?
Finding a lot of older song lyrics or music is very hard. Not all musical artists release song books or sheet music, so they simply cant be bought in shops on-line or off-line. That is where I don’t have a problem with people looking on-line for that material.
Obviously there are copyright issues, there always have been, and legally one cant really argue I suppose. but jail terms for punishment? Oh please..
To put someone in jail for downloading guitar tab is horrific, and if this is the kind of thing that is going to happen in music then it is time to stop the music.
Another excuse to gobble up the financial rewards of music ( and very rewarding they are already ) and forgetting about the eclectic tastes of many music lovers/musicians who simply have no access on mainstream record stores on-line/off-line to what their ears enjoy .

NHS workers face 2% pay increase
Doctor
Doctors are unhappy with the recommendation
NHS pay must be based on the government’s 2% target for inflation, Chancellor Gordon Brown has said
BBC News Online Report
My respect for hospital workers is starting to return. The way the Doctors, Nurses and others strive to make patients comfortable and happy on limited resources just makes me wonder why our government spends more on other less worthy acts.

It is so sad to see that footballing legend George Best is now entering the final moments of his colourful life.
I hope he does not suffer, however I can agree to a certain extent with the voices out there who raise comments regarding an alcoholic playboy who abused his 1st and 2nd livers.
Should we give alcoholics another chance of life if they need a liver transplant?
I think the issue with some is due to George Best’s comments in the past about falling off the wagon and how he liked his drink. He made no secret of that, and I suppose that troubled many a liver.
Im unsure which side of the fence I am on to be honest.
He will live on forever through beautiful game.
Thanks for showing us how the game should be played George…
