Edinburgh: Worth the money?

Posted on: Wednesday, August 16th, 2006 at 5:40 PM

A new report has informed us all that Edinburgh is an expensive place to live in, and is one of the most expensive places in the UK with regards to the cost of living.

Edinburgh has a pub that apparently charges £5 per pint of lager. That means, as a light drinker I am still a cheap night out when I am socialising in the Capital. Two pints of beer and I’m easily amused for the evening.

If I could right now, Id move there. Yes it is expensive, but the quality of life ( if you avoid the run down areas ) is far superior than the West Of Scotland. The streets are cleaner ( only just at times ) its more alive than Glasgow, more cosmopolitan, the buses are cheaper, cleaner and most importantly, one can wear his hair with confidence.

I spent quite some time in Edinburgh and I never got called Franz Ferdinand.

The city is worth the money. Glasgow only beats it for shopping.

So, if anyone can sell me the benefits of staying in Glasgow instead of Edinburgh, let me know..
