NHS pay must be based on the government’s 2% target for inflation, Chancellor Gordon Brown has said
My respect for hospital workers is starting to return. The way the Doctors, Nurses and others strive to make patients comfortable and happy on limited resources just makes me wonder why our government spends more on other less worthy acts.
The NHS medical staff should be on a starting basic pay of £30,000. I spoke with a Nurse the other day. She earns less than me and has two other jobs in order to assist paying bills on time.
However I am slight hypocrite. I admire them more and more everyday. But in my opinion they fight a losing battle. The resources will never be there for them or for the poor patient stuck in an NHS hospital.
Perhaps the NHS should be privatised completely with the elderly only having free healthcare?
I believe in a free NHS, and a privatised NHS. Does that make sense?
Perhaps, the government will one day make me believe in 100% free hospital treatment. If Labour claim the Health Service is in better shape now than under the Thatcher/Major years, then I feel sorry for anyone who endured a hospital visit in those days.
Surely it couldn’t have been worse than it is today?
