Everyone has an ultimate fear or a nemesis. This can be physical or mental. My nemesis is a bit of both. It is the Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
Ten years ago, I watched my father die of cancer in that hospital in Ward 61. The Doctors informed him that ‘ we have tablets to make you better ‘ and we believed this false hope. They also informed me and the rest of my family that he would be fine after a course of treatment to heal a non cancerous tumour. (more…)

It is so sad to see that footballing legend George Best is now entering the final moments of his colourful life.
I hope he does not suffer, however I can agree to a certain extent with the voices out there who raise comments regarding an alcoholic playboy who abused his 1st and 2nd livers.
Should we give alcoholics another chance of life if they need a liver transplant?
I think the issue with some is due to George Best’s comments in the past about falling off the wagon and how he liked his drink. He made no secret of that, and I suppose that troubled many a liver.
Im unsure which side of the fence I am on to be honest.
He will live on forever through beautiful game.
Thanks for showing us how the game should be played George…

I think I’m getting old.
I was going to work this morning in style (by taxi) and the taxi driver had the radio playing. A catchy tune starts to bellow out of the car loudspeakers.
It was a right toe-tapper. Then I found it out it was a Genesis track.
Yes, I’m getting old. I always blamed The Beatles for Genesis.
I guess you can tell I am not a fan of Phil Collins

I’m still getting to grips with a few issues with Wordpress. There is so much to learn about it and I’m currently in the process of jazzing up the template a little.
Then the real blogging can begin!
